Q.1. Can I use Fali alcohol yeast for batch, fed-batch and continuous fermentation operations?
A.1. Yes. Due to the inherent high alcohol tolerance of this yeast strain, Fali is robust enough to continue to ferment sugars above 18% (v/v) as encountered in batch and fed-batch fermentations. Fali has also proven to be strong in continuous fermentation processes, resulting in increased ethanol yields.
Q.2. What if the sugar source is changed, for example, from corn to molasses or from wheat to cassava?
A.2. Fali has been used in all sugar substrates from all regions of the world. AB Mauri is confident that Fali alcohol yeast is the most robust, reliable and efficient alcohol yeast strain for all sugar substrates.
Q.3. Are there other yeast strains that are more suitable or optimised to particular sugar sources?
A.3. AB Mauri is continually assessing strains from our extensive collection to determine if other strains are more suited to particular sugar substrates such as cassava, sorghum, molasses and corn. These will be released to the market over time.
Q.4. Should I use Fali alcohol dried yeast that has gone past the expiration date?
A.4. No. Although the yeast may still actively ferment, AB Mauri cannot guarantee the performance of its strains once outside the expiration date. Time affects the viability and performance of yeast to optimally convert sugars to ethanol.
Q.5. Where can I get assistance to learn how to use Fali alcohol yeast in my application?
A.5. AB Mauri offers extensive technical support to you and your operation. Please contact your nearest distributor to learn more.
